  RFM Demo Software
         - requirements and setup instructions

System Requirements

To run the program you will need an IBM compatible computer, preferably with an Intel 486DX-33 or faster processor. Furthermore it needs Windows 3.1 or newer, with at least 4 MB RAM and a 1,44 MB disk drive. The installation on your hard drive will require about 6 MB space. The installation is self-explanatory. The program is designed to work with a 640 × 480 VGA display, as most portables use this kind of display, but will work with higher resolutions. A mouse will simplify the program’s operation but you will be able to use all functions without one. Make sure that the fonts Courier New, MS Sans Serif, and Small Fonts (come with Windows) are installed – if not, please install them first, otherwise some tables and texts may not display correctly. Due to some problems in Windows it is also recommended that you use the small fonts settings for your graphic card – if not some tables and texts may not display correctly.

Program Installation under Windows 3.1

Try to close all programs except the program manager before running the installation, as your programs may use some libraries (DLLs) that the installation needs to update.

To install the program using Windows 3.1 either,

1. Select the File-Run option in the program manager pull-down menu.
2. Type A:\SETUP and press ENTER.

or

1. Run the file manager and select the drive with the installation disk.
2. Double click on the file SETUP.EXE in the file list.

Then follow the instructions given by the installation program. First you must select language for the installation, then input registration information. After that you can select which directory to install the RFM files into. If the suggested directory C:\RFM is all right then click OK, if not select another directory using the browser or enter another directory name and click OK. The program will then be installed in that directory. You can also choose to make backup copies of files that are replaced during the installation, and finally you will be able to choose a name for the RFM program group. If there are any problems with programs in use during the installation, you can click Ignore or equivalent to get around. You will also have the possibility to view a file with last minute changes to the program that not are covered in this manual.

Done!

Click the program icon to start the program.

Program Installation under Windows 95/98

Try to close all programs before running the installation, as your programs may use some libraries (DLLs) that the installation needs to update.

To install the program using Windows 95/98 either,

1. Press the start button and select the Run option in the menu.
2. Type A:\SETUP and press ENTER.

or

1. Run the Explorer and select the drive with the installation disk.
2. Double click on the file SETUP.EXE in the file list.

Then follow the instructions given by the installation program. First select language for the installation, then input registration information. After that you can select which directory to install the RFM files into. If the suggested directory C:\PROGRAM FILES\RFM, or equivalent, is all right then click OK. Under Windows 95, programs are normally installed in the directory C:\PROGRAM FILES or likely, depending on your language version. If you want to change this, select another directory using the browser or enter another directory name and click OK. The program will then be installed in that directory. You can also choose to make backup copies of files that are replaced during the installation, and finally you will be able to choose a name for the RFM program group.
