The Barracuda can be configured according to your own needs and requirements. This configurator will step you through the process to create a Barracuda system according to your specific needs.

Step #1 - Choose multimeter applications

The MPD (Multi-Purpose Detector) is used for all modalities to measure kVp, exposure time, dose, dose rate, dose/pulse, pulse rate, total filtration and HVL.

Please mark below the application(s) you want to have:

	R/F, dental and dental panoramic (OPG)
	Mammography
	CT (only kVp and time, CT dose requires a specific CT ion chamber)

Step #2 - Choose Additional Dose measurements

You may need an extra dose probe, solid state or ionsation chamber, for the following cases:

• You need the R100B to measure low dose rate, below 200nGy/s (23 µR/s), for example when measuring input dose to the image intensifier. Lowest dose rate with R100B is 1 nGy/s (0.4 mR/h).
• You need to measure CT dose, CTDI or CT Dose Profile.
• You want to use an ionsation chamber, one you already have or you want to buy a new one.

A CT ionisation chamber is neccessary to measure CT dose. An additional phantom is also required to measure CTDI (CT dose index).

Step #3 - Choose Additional Probes and Detectors

Other probes that can be used with the Barracuda are mAs probe and light detector.

mAs probes
Both invasive and non-invasive mAs probes are available.

	MAS-1: Invasive (0.1 mA - 2 A)
	MAS-2B: Non-invasive (10 mA - 2 A)
	MAS-3: Non-invasive (0.1 mA - 2 A)
	I have already MAS-2B and I will use it
	I have already MAS-1, MAS-2, MAS-3 and I will use it

Light detector
The light detector can measure luminance and illuminance with use of different adapters. The most common applications are checking monitors, viewing boxes and measuring the room light (ambient light).

Step #4 - Choose Stand, Holders and Filters

There are special stand/holders available for Multi-Purpose Detector that makes it easier to position the detector in various situations.

Step #5 - Choose Software

The Barracuda can be operated from a handheld computer with Palm OS® running the QABrowser software or from a PC with Windows operating system running the oRTIgo 2002.

The PC software oRTIgo is a QA program that allows you automate your QA and service work.
